Wet, sloggy, muddy, fragrant,
Petrichor, thunder, lightning,
Young girls ride bikes
Beneath sunset’s double rainbows
Laughing.
August in the San Luis Valley
Yearned for, needed, grateful river.

What a beautiful place! We are about to have the 3rd storm go through in less than a month — will really welcome some rain!
This is a spot where I walk the dogs — it’s the place where the Icky Man shows up, so I don’t often go there now, but for a year or two, I went almost every day to enjoy the beauty and the changes.
I’m glad you’re getting rain!
I hope that you’ll be able to go there randomly without encountering the “Icky Man” — it’s such a beautiful spot, and you’ve enjoyed it so much!
I know. We went out there last week to a spot where I’ve never seen the Icky Man and had a wonderful time. I’m hoping tomorrow the temps will allow us to go out again. 🙂
That would be wonderful!
20 inches since the end of September! That’s like a YEAR of normal precipitation.
I think it’s still going in cycles, but the cycles are strange and unfamiliar.
The light is beautiful. I can almost smell it too.
It was a beautiful afternoon shower following that light. I think that day Bear and I saw a deer out there, too. Really magical. 🙂

Is your header photo the street you live on? It is so very pretty.
Yeah, looking west. 🙂 It is a really pretty street, thank you!
I miss the summer thunderstorms I remember in Michigan. You bring back those memories.
