For the little girl to be watching The Graces, I had to turn them. They will be smaller in the painting. No fancy pastel work (yet?) I think I’m getting there.

I think you’re getting there, too, Martha. This looks wonderful…the Graces all talking and absorbed in themselves while the little girl stares. My eyes go straight to the girl on the left–the smile on her face says it all. These gals are having a great time.
It solves the problem of the light, too!
They still have that joy! I really like the potential of this painting!
Me too! It’s been a great diversion through all this that’s been going on. Art is medicine. ❤️
It works really well. X
Thank you, Chris. I think I’m getting there!!!
Yes definitely. Better go, it’s 1.54am x
Step by step — often the best way to a whole!
Especially when you have no idea where you’re going!
That’s why best!
Sorry, I’ve missed a few posts, Martha. Are you going to put the pastel over the drawing? Or is this a sketch which you are going to re-create in pastel. I really like it too. The little girl is transfixed.
It’s sketches. I knew the picture but not how to put it together 😄
It is going to look great. I love pastels. My mother left me some of hers after she gave me a pastel lesson but I’ve yet to use them again.
I think it’s going to be oil paint — pastels and I have a brief and unpredictable relationship. I can count on them.
It will be lovely in oil.
I hope so! Anyway, possible for me. I just lucked out with the pastels on that drawing.
This project has given you a challenge and a lot of enjoyment. 🙂
Yes it has!
